Granite / Marble Countertop Maintenance
For general day to day cleaning, we advise using a combination of neutral cleaning agent, such as anti-bacterial dishwashing detergent and water, or purchasing one of the widely available stone cleaning products. Avoid streaks and dullness, by buffing off the wet surface with a dry cloth. DO NOT use acidic, abrasive, wax or bleach based household cleaners and sprays on either marble or granite.
Granite and Marble countertops should also be sealed three times after initial installation, to remove long term risk of penetration into the stone by any caustic or staining agent. Our professional installation team will seal the stone immediately after install, and homeowners are advised to repeat the process, 12 and 24 months after this anniversary. No further sealing is required.
Zodiaq® Quartz Surfaces Care and Maintenance
DuPont Zodiaq® quartz surfaces are very easy to maintain. The quartz used in Zodiaq® - coupled with high-performance, stain-resistant polymers - results in a durable, nonporous, chemical-resistant surface. Zodiaq® is also heat- and scratch-resistant, but not heat- and scratch-proof. Therefore, the use of a cutting board is recommended when using a knife.
With simple care, Zodiaq® will retain its radiant, lustrous appearance for many years. For routine cleaning, use a damp cloth or paper towel and, if necessary, a small amount of non-bleach, nonabrasive cleanser. Zodiaq® does not require sealants or waxes.
Even though Zodiaq® resists permanent staining when exposed to liquids (such as wine, vinegar, tea, lemon juice and soda) or fruits and vegetables, wipe up food and liquid spills as soon as possible. Zodiaq® also gives you peace of mind. In the unlikely event that you do experience any problems due to a manufacturer's defect, you can rest assured that DuPont backs Zodiaq® with a 10-year limited warranty.
